Consistent quality, returning customer

This is our third time working with Digit. We previously implemented DIGIT Property Tax and DIGIT Trade License, and this time it was for DIGIT Public Grievance Redressal. Their consistency is why we keep coming back. The platform is always reliable, and the open-source model allows for great flexibility. The support team is familiar with our previous setups, which makes new deployments a lot easier.

Good value for non-profit

I was looking for a cost-effective solution for our non-profit and found Digit's open-source offering. The free sandbox access was super helpful to test things out before committing. We got a good understanding of what DIGIT Finance and Accounting could do for us without any upfront cost, which was key for our budget.

Amazing platform!

We just implemented DIGIT Urban and it's fantastic! The platform is so robust and user-friendly. Our team loves the new workflow engine. It's really streamlining our city operations. I can't wait to explore more modules. Definitely recommending Digit to other municipalities!

Smooth experience, helpful team

Our experience getting DIGIT Water and Sewerage set up was pretty smooth overall. The initial demo was informative, and the sales team was responsive in answering our questions about volume licensing. Implementation took about 3 months, which was slightly longer than estimated, but the support credits they offered really helped with getting our data migrated. The system itself is intuitive, and our staff picked it up quickly. We haven't needed much support since going live, but the few times we did, they were quick to respond and resolve our issues. I appreciate how transparent they were about the process and costs.

Easy to use

Needed something for managing assets, so we went with DIGIT Asset Management. It was pretty straightforward to get going. Everything worked like it should, no weird surprises. Made our inventory tracking much simpler.

We're a city in Arizona, do they have any local government compliance built in, or is that something we have to customize heavily?

C Cody 1 month ago
From what I understand, it's designed with local government regulations in mind, but you'd probably still need some customization for specific state/local nuances. It's not a one-size-fits-all out of the box for every single thing.

I think they aim for compliance, but every place is a little different. Best to ask them directly about AZ specific stuff.

How does Digit compare to something like CivicPlus for citizen engagement or service requests? Are they similar or totally different beasts?

P Phil Silva 2 months ago
Digit is more of a backend infrastructure platform, like ERP stuff, though it has citizen apps. CivicPlus feels more front-end focused for citizen engagement. Digit is broader.

They're different. Digit is about building out entire digital government services, while CivicPlus is more about specific engagement tools. Digit is deeper, CivicPlus is often more polished for public-facing portals specifically.

Hey, thinking about trying out Digit for our city's property tax system. Is there like, a free version or something we can mess around with before committing?

J Jared 2 months ago
Yeah, totally! It's open source so you can just download the core stuff. They also have a sandbox environment you can play in, which is pretty cool for testing things out.

They don't do 'free trials' in the usual sense, but the software itself is free to use. You'd pay for support or hosting if you need it.

Is Digit actually free to download and use the core software, or is there a catch? Seems too good to be true.

M Mike M. 1 month ago
No catch, it's genuinely open source. You can download and run it. The costs come in if you want their enterprise support, managed hosting, or help with implementation.

Yeah, it's free. The business model is around services, not selling the software itself.

How long does it usually take to get something like Digit's water and sewerage system up and running for a small town?

A Andre Foster 1 month ago
It really depends on how complex your existing setup is, but I've heard deployments can range from a few months to over a year for really big ones. Small town probably on the shorter end.

My friend's municipality just did their property tax with Digit, and it took them about 6 months, but they had a lot of data to migrate.
